How To Create The Turnbull Rose

Posted 21.05.19  - Style

The pocket square is an accessory that provides a touch of personality and elegance to your outfit. Whilst there are several ways a pocket square can be folded, our customers often ask us how they can achieve the same style worn by our store staff. The Turnbull Rose, as we proudly call it, is a take on the classic twist fold and is achievable in four simple steps. Our Jermyn Street Manager, James Cook, explains the process.

Step 1

Make a small circle with your fist and lay the pocket square face up, over the top of it. The middle of the pocket square should align with the middle of the circle.

Step 2

Gently push the pocket square through the circle with your index finger.

Step 3

Gather and lift the top of the pocket square, and tightly twist the bottom - this is how you form the rose.

Step 4

Place the pocket square into your top pocket starting from the loose ends and adjust accordingly.

Our seasonal pocket squares are measured at 45x45cm, making them the perfect size to achieve body, without looking too bunched up in your pocket. It is also significantly easier to achieve the Rose with this size pocket square, as smaller ones will tend of sink into your pocket, leaving nothing on show.
