Our seasonal exclusive shirts are made in England in very limited quantities with unique materials and patterns designed by Turnbull & Asser
Leading the resurgence of the modern classic aesthetic, we have taken inspiration from London’s yesteryear to create the new Autumn/Winter ’17 collection, Mayfair Tales.
It’s not just the material or fit that dictate a shirt's style - it's the finishing details, from the top of the neck to the sleeve’s end.
Attention to detail means our ties are unlike any others. Formed from three sections – the blade, the gusset and the under end – they are hand-stitched in England by skilled sewers using premium, exclusive silks and indestructible bonded thread.
This year we are delighted to be able to bring our bespoke experts to you through a series of international trunk shows.
There can be few experiences more satisfying than the quiet pleasure of wearing a crisply laundered shirt that has been made for you and you alone.
Great fabric, a great cut and first-class construction count for nothing if your shirt doesn`t fit. It`s the first thing people notice and the last thing you want to get wrong.
Turnbull & Asser shirts come in three fits: Regular, Informalist and Slim. Learn more about your fit below.
Our classic and signature fit, generous around the arms and chest and tapering slightly towards the waist.
Our new Informalist fit sits perfectly between our regular and slim fit shirts, offering comfort without being loose and perfect for relaxed weekends.
Our slim fit is designed for a modern silhouette that accentuates the body of its wearer.
When choosing a Turnbull & Asser shirt, there is no need to buy a larger size to allow for shrinkage, which happens to all fine quality cotton during its first few washes.
We have already allowed for this in our design, and the actual collar measurement on a new shirt will be up to 1/2" (1.3cm) larger than the stated size.
If you are unsure about which size to take, we suggest selecting your current collar size; this will allow for our recommended freedom of movement on the body
Hold the tape at the point where the seam of the shoulder meets the collar, and keeping it as straight as possible, measure downwards to where you desire the shirt to finish.
Stand in an upright posture with your arms placed straight down by your sides. Take a tape measure from the centre of your shoulder`s (about 1" or 2.5 cm below where your shirt collar sits) then run the tape across the top of your shoulder and down the outside of your arm to a point 1/2" (1.3 cm) past the prominent bone of the wrist.
Alternatively, using one of your favourite shirts that fits well. Lay it on a flat surface and measure from the centre of the shoulders down the full length of the sleeve to the bottom of the cuff. Allow and extra 1/2" (1.3 cm) for material shrinkage after washing.
The tape measure is placed around the hips being sure to incorporate the widest point of the seat.
Place the measuring tape against the skin around the fullest part of your waist, usually just above your hips.
Put the measuring tape around the fullest part of your chest remembering to keep the tape horizontal.
Measure around the base of your neck where the shirt`s collar would normally sit. Allow enough room for one or two finger tips (depending on how loose you like your collar to fit) to be inserted comfortably between the tape measure and your neck.
Alternatively, take one of your own business shirts that you feel has a comfortable collar size then simply lay it out flat and measure the distance between the middle of the button hole and the middle of the button on the inside (the part next to your skin) of the collar.
